Interpretation

Interpretation is the oral conversion of the meaning of a message of one language into another. Many people consider interpretation to be more difficult than translation (convertintg texts from one language into another) because it requires that instantaneous decisions be made in the context of the pressure of dealing with 'live' people.

I'm CILISAT certified and I have extensive experience in conference and business interpretation, especially for the mining industries.

I charge $30 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours ($60) of work. In other words, even if the meeting or appointment lasts for only 15 minutes, I charge at least $60. The reason for this is because one appointment takes up at least a 1/2 a day when travel time is factored in.

I am willing to travel as far as you wish as long as the travel expenses are covered. If for example, your appointment is in Niagara Falls, and we are using our own vehicle, you must cover gasoline and parking and lodging, if required. We are willing to drive you if you have no vehicle yourself. We have special daily rates for jobs that you know beforehand will requiere our services for the whole day.

Interpretaciones

Interpretaciones son las conversaciones orales del significado de un mensaje en un idioma a otro idioma. Mucha gente considera la interpretación más difícil que la traducción (convirtiendo texto de un idioma a otro) porque requiere que las decisiones sean instantaneas y hechas bajo la presión del momento.

Soy certificado por CILISAT y tengo amplia experiencia en interpretación comunitaria, eso quiere decir que he interpretado citas de asistencia social (welfare), citas médicas, casos de inmigración, cuestiones con la policía, visitas con los abogados, etc.

También tengo experiencia en interpretación de conferencias y reuniones de negocios.

Estoy dispuesto a viajar tan lejos como desees, siempre y cuando los gastos sean cubiertos.
